Kelly McCloud is the 25 year old girl next door contestant on the reality game show ‘Survival of the Fittest’, where 12 ordinary people are pitted against each other in the middle of the rain forest. Two teams go head to head in the jungle to see who will become extinct, and who will survive to claim the million dollar prize. Kelly’s team is riding a wave of victories when the competition reaches its turning point and the two teams combine.
Then reality sets in when her nemesis is seriously wounded and rushed from the game, and her strongest ally must defend his innocence as the nature of the injury might not have been an accident. To make matters worse the medevac helicopter crashes into the crew‘s base camp, killing the entire support staff, and suddenly the host and remaining contestants find themselves cut off from the outside world.
Forced to fend for themselves until help arrives, they decide to continue the game, and the host and lone cameraman move into camp with the contestants. It could have been an accident, and a rescue chopper will come in two days, so nerves eventually calm and the game returns to some semblance of normalcy.
But when the next person to win safety from the vote is found brutally murdered with a death threat written in blood, all hell breaks loose. One by one the players are hunted down until Kelly finds herself alone in camp with her ally. She’s been separated from him all night, and doesn’t know what to believe. Is he the killer? Is there someone else?
By the end of the night Kelly will not only discover who the murderer is, she will also find out just how far she’s willing to go to survive.
